A pretty quiet Saturday morning on the streets today in Arequipa. We did a very large circle around the Plaza de Armas with a nice breeze keeping us from getting too hot. Just when we were about to pull out the map to find out where we were, we stumbled upon the Monestario de Santa Catelina, the main thing we wanted to see while here.
Walking around last night, we found the city here is very loud....lots of cars, horns, cabs, busses, people everywhere. The monestary was quiet, cool and beautiful. Here are some pics:
Shops were open when we got out so we located the tour company we wanted to book with and arranged our two-day trek to Colca Canyon...hoping to see some condors! We're being picked up by our tour bus at 3am tomorrow to begin our next adventure (unfortunately that's not a typo - the condors are out early). Stay tuned as we'll be back in Arequipa late Monday night and hope to check in Tuesday morning before heading to Nasca.
